Privacy Policy
Effective October 22, 2026
We collect what we need to form your company, act as its registered agent and bill you, and we share it only with the government offices we file with and the services that help us run the site. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.
What we collect
| Information | Why |
|---|---|
| Your name, email, phone and password (stored as a one-way hash) | Your account, and reaching you when legal papers arrive |
| Your company's details: name, type, purpose, officers, managers, members, organizer and their addresses | The filings you ask us to make |
| Texas taxpayer number and Webfile number, if you give them | Franchise tax filings; encrypted in our database |
| Signatures, with the time, IP address and browser they were made from | The legal record that you consented and authorized us |
| Scans of legal papers and mail delivered for your company | Forwarding them to you, and our records |
| Payment details | Handled by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number |
| Sign-in and security logs | Keeping your account and our records secure |
Public record
What you file with the Texas Secretary of State is public. Your company's name, registered agent and office, and the names and addresses on the certificate of formation (such as the organizer and governing persons) can be seen by anyone. You can use a mailing address other than your home where the form allows it.
Who we share it with
- Texas Secretary of State and Comptroller, and the IRS when you ask us to file something, only what that filing requires.
- Stripe, to take payments.
- Our email and text message providers, to send you notices.
- Our hosting and backup providers, which store data on our behalf under contract.
- Anyone the law requires, such as in response to a valid subpoena or court order.
How we protect it
The site is served only over encrypted connections. Tax identifiers and portal credentials are encrypted in our database. Staff sign in with two-factor authentication, and every staff action on your records is logged in a record that cannot be edited. Backups are encrypted.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and company records while you are a client and for 7 years after. Scans of legal papers and state notices are kept at least 7 years, even after you leave. Signed consents and authorizations are kept as long as they could be needed as evidence.
Text messages
If you give us a mobile number, we text you when legal papers are served on your company. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop texts; we will still email you.
Your choices
You can see and update most of your information in your account. To ask for a copy, a correction or deletion, contact us. We may need to keep some records, such as signed consents and legal papers we received for you, where the law or our duties as your agent require.
